Menu Plan Monday

Go to fullsize image
Do you make menu plans?  I find it very helpful both to keep me organized (especially on hectic weeknights) and to keep my budget under control.  I plan my dinner menu by the week and base it on food items I already have on hand and what is on sale at the store that week.  This week I am pulling chicken and homemade spaghetti sauce & meatballs from the freezer.  I'll buy the fresh produce items and everything else I already have on hand.

Here's my plan for dinners this week...

Monday...Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken, mac&cheese, broccoli
Tuesday...spaghetti, salad
Wednesday...Easy Chicken Enchiladas, rice
Thursday...Breakfast Night ~ Belgian Waffles, Sausage, Fruit

Later this week I will post about my produce basket for this week.  For new readers, I participate in a local produce co-op.  It has been a while since I participated and posted anything about it so stay tuned for the info.  If you are local to me it is definitely worth looking into.  For those not local to me, I hope this will encourage you to check into any programs like it in your area.

I'm joining Menu Plan Monday at Org Junkie this week.  Stop by for lots of menu planning inspiration.

  1. Your menu plan for the week sounds great. I haven't had chicken enchiladas in a while. I may have to put that on my menu for next week. I definitely plan ahead for meals and do as much cooking as I can for M-Th on Sunday evening. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your produce co-op.

  2. Your menu for the week sounds great. We would love your BBQ Chicken. Thank you for sharing and have a good week!

  3. I totally menu plan - sounds like a delicious week!

  4. I've got to get more organized about meals for sure. Can't wait to hear more about the co-op.

  5. I don't plan for specific days I just post meals that I have ingredients for and then that day choose from the list. It helps alot. I found that if I assigned a meal to a specific day etc various activities would change the plan so now I just shop for 5 or 6 meals then choose from the "list"
