Organizing Coupons...What's the Best Way?

So you've started clipping coupons but now what? How do you keep them orgainzed so you can easily find them and use them to get the good grocery deals?

I've had many people ask me how I organize my coupons. There is really not one absolute best way. You may find that you need to try out a few different organizational systems to find what works the best for you.

I have used the Binder Method since I started couponing. At times (like right now) I get far behind in my clipping and filing and I get easily frustrated at having to play catch up. But when I stay up-to-date on that process I really like this way of organizing. I like being able to see exactly which coupons I have, expiration dates, etc. Personally, I do not like to carry this big binder into the store when shopping. I prefer to pull the coupons I plan to use and carry them in a small coupon expandable carrier I found in the Dollar Spot at Target.

Crystal at Money Saving Mom had a good post today about Finding a Coupon Organizational System Which Works For You. She offers some good tips, plus she goes through 3 popular ways to organize your coupons...The Binder, The Whole Insert, and The Box. Click on her links for additional info.

For those of you who are new to the whole coupon world, I hope you find this information helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

I'd love to know what system works for you...please share!

  1. I use the COUPONIZER. It is a product 'invented' by a local (North Ga) mother and coupon-er. It's approx $20, but it paid for itself on my 1st use. It has pockets, and an organizer for easy filing and its all in an easy to use binder. I knew if I waited until I did it myself, it might not ever get done.

  2. I'm on my 4th method at this point. I don't cut them anymore b/c of time restraints so I file them by date and name of flyer (SS 5/16/10). It seems to be working for me better as I was ALWAYS behind on cutting and filing my coupons. The only negative is that I don't share as many coupons as before.
