Produce Co-Op & Today's Pick Up

For those of you in the Charlotte area I want to share with you info about a produce co-op. Your Neighborhood Produce is a way to save money on fresh produce. There are no commitments or contracts to sign...you sign up as a member and participate as much or as little as you like.

Your Neighborhood Produce works with a local wholesaler, who sells produce to area restaurants and schools. They purchase large amounts of fresh produce by the case from this wholesaler, divide it into "produce baskets" and the participants arrive to pick it up (you pay in advance via PayPal each time you wish to participate). The more people that participate, the greater the buying power of Your Neighborhood Produce and the better selection for us! Today's Indian Trail pick up had about 100 baskets!
There are different options to choose from...

Original produce basket $17.50
*will always include a variety of apple, banana, lettuce and tomato...everything else will vary by season...11-15 item variety with about 40-50 total items

Smaller Portion produce basket $11.50
*will always include a variety of apple, banana, lettuce and tomato...everything else will vary by season...11-15 item variety with about 20-25 total items

Fruit Only basket $8.50
*will always include apples and bananas...total of 4-6 item variety of fruit

PLEASE visit the website for Your Neighborhood Produce for more information, including a calendar of upcoming basket pickups. There are several pick up locations around the Charlotte area including Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston and Cabarrus counties in NC and York County, SC.

Let me know if you have any questions about this...I highly recommend you give it a try! I will post reminders for when pick ups are scheduled and payments due.
