Mealtime Monday ~ Honey Carrots

Here is a quick and easy side dish that your kids will love! I have used fresh baby carrots for this but usually prefer the frozen ones to speed things up.

Enjoy!

Honey Carrots

1 bag frozen crinkle cut carrots

1/3 cup raisins

1/3 cup honey

2 tablespoons butter

Cook carrots according to package. Drain carrots and return to pan. Add raisins, honey and butter. Cook over low heat until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.

*I always just “eyeball” this recipe and never really measure anything.

Very kid-friendly! Great way to entice them to eat some veggies!

Some Of My Favorites...

I haven't been on the computer much this week but I did manage to find a couple of things to share with you all...

Enjoy a great weekend everyone!

Check out these yummy S'mores Cupcakes over at Sumo's Sweet Stuff...wow, these look great and no fire needed (although campfires are fun!).

I just love this Bandana Quilt Tablecloth that Anneliese at Aesthetic Nest made for her daughter's birthday party. How cute!

Here's a tutorial on making a cute and colorful Birthday Wreath. I found this on How Does She, which is a neat site to check out.

My First Super Doubles Trip Today

I went to the grocery store bright and early this morning to take advantage of the first day of Super Doubles at Harris Teeter.

Usually I focus my attention on the items I can get for free or for just a few pennies. However, over the last 3-4 weeks I have had so much going on that my coupon clipping was put on the back burner. I was needing to get things we can use now, not just stuff to "stockpile". So, today I mostly focused on stuff that I could score a good deal on that we really can use now.
************************************************************************
Here's today's trip...(sorry there's no picture...in too much of a hurry to get it all put away today).

gallon milk $1.99 (no coupon needed, just a great sale price on milk this week!)

strawberries $1.99 (on sale BOGO, I just bought 1 at half price)

1 can Chef Michaels Dog Food FREE (used coupon for free can from HT mailer...thanks Mom!)

3 boxes Muellers pasta $1.00ea...used $1/3 coupon from mailer = 0.98 ea

1 Puffs tissues $1.79...used $1 coupon from VocalPoint mailer = FREE

1 Zest soap 3pk $2.79...used $1 coupon from mailer = .79

2 Classico Vodka Pasta Sauce $2.79...used (2) $1.50/1 insert coupon = FREE
(yes, you can get a larger jar that is on E-vic special for free after the coupon but they didn't have the vodka sauce flavor in it so I opted for the smaller jars and got 2)

1 Lance Crackers 8pk $2.79...used $1 printable = .79

2 Grande Tortilla Chips $3.00ea...used (2) $1 insert coupons = $1 ea

2 Capri Sun Sunrise Juice Bags $2.77...used (2) $1 insert coupon = .77 ea

4 Vitamin Waters $1.00 ea...used (2) $1/2 insert coupons = FREE for all 4

2 Dove Deodorant $3.35...used (2) $1.50 printable coupon = .35 ea

2 Rhodes Heat & Serve Dinner Rolls $2.25ea...used (2) $1 insert coupons = .25 ea

1 Red Baron Pizza *E-vic Special $2.97...used $1.50 insert coupon = FREE

1 Tropicana Orange Juice $2.79...used $1 insert coupon = .79

1 Danactive Yogurt Drinks $2.50...used $1 insert coupon = .50

1 Simply Go-Gurt yogurt tubes $2.79...used $1.10 printable = .59

$71.41 worth of groceries for $14.28 out-of-pocket (OOP).
Certainly not a record-setting OOP total but I am so happy with my shopping trip because it was ALL stuff we will be eating in this next week and I scored some great deals on it!

Now I need to pull my coupons for tomorrow's trip! So hoping to find some small packs of Wholly Guacamole for free...I missed out on those today and that is one of my favorite freebies!

Can't wait to hear how you all save at the store this week!

Happy Saving!
